Beauford’s journey with seizures.

Hi everyone! Today I am fundraising to get my boy the testing he deserves. Let me elaborate. In 2019, we rescued a pup, Beauford. He was (and is mostly) a healthy happy boy. A few days after his neuter, he began seizing. He’s had multiple hospital stays due to seizures that cluster and and are unable to be stopped without intervention. In Nashville we saw a neurologist who was nice but didn’t make us feel confident in his condition or care. He currently takes zonisamide and phenobarbital with CBd for those interested. After relocating to Orlando due to the pandemic and income loss, we have a specialist here who really knows epilepsy and seizures. I took him on Tuesday to see the neurologist and she let me know that we cannot know for sure that his condition is epilepsy without testing. They aren’t pushing this testing on us, but we have decided it’s best for our boy to rule out the other possibilities (tumor, cyst, meningitis etc). Today we’re asking for help with getting him an MRI that costs $2500-$3500. His will likely include a spinal tap, which is the higher end. He’s a sweet boy with a long life ahead and we want to give him every opportunity to live that life to the fullest.
