Please help us save Penny’s life

This gofundme will benefit Penny Lane❤️ We know that this year has been a roller coaster to say the least. It has been so rough for so many people and we hope you know that we always try to find ourselves on the loving, supportive, and morally-correct side of things. We always try to spread our love and happiness and try to always do our best. In that attempt, we saw Penny at the adoption site. We saw all of the joy she could bring to us and subsequently to this world. The light she brings into this world with only being six months young. We saw all of the love-filled days we could give her. All the moments of pure happiness, joy, and bliss that our three other cats get to enjoy: we saw that we could give her those too. We always want the best for our pets and took on a responsibility when adopting her to always cherish her, love her, and take care of her for as long as we can. We want to continue to do that and we will always fight for her. That being said, let me give you her timeline... We adopted her on September 18th and lived blissfully for a few days until we took her to her first appointment on September 22nd. She had either ringworm or mites and we paid those hefty vet bills to take care of her and heal her. We thought we were in the clear. We noticed a couple days later that the scabbing was worse and now her abdomen had distended. Her second appointment was September 26th. Finally got her on track with the now-confirmed ringworm treatment and we were on our way. But the vet mentions: “FIP”. Feline Infectious Peritonitis. A rare and fatal disease that affects 5-10% of cats. It’s a form of the coronavirus (not COVID-19) that every cat will contact in their life, even yours. But for her? She was genetically predisposed to become fatally ill when in contact with this virus as it mutates and continues to mutate in her body. Her abdomen is filling with fluid. Each day, it will fill more and more. Fatal. It was so gut wrenching to hear this because it’s just not what we expected. Kittens are supposed to be happy and healthy and have the potential to live years and years. She wasn’t given this opportunity... that is until we did research. Facebook groups like FIP Warriors and FIP Healed with Mutian gave us HOPE. There’s a treatment. It was finalized and cleared for administration 3 years ago and hit its stride only in 2019. We are so lucky to have this advancement at our disposal because so many cats have lost their lives to FIP in the past without this treatment. We love her so much. So unbelievably much. She deserves to live this long healthy life that all of your pets and all of our other pets are getting to live right now. The full treatment takes 84 days. It is two weeks of us giving her injections followed by the remaining 70 days using capsules. The total treatment cost goes above $3400. I know we’re all in the thick of it right now. But if you, any of you, can give any amount at all to help us give Penny the life we promised her, we will forever be grateful. And even more so, SO WILL SHE. Forever grateful. And we get it if you can’t. We just know that so many of you love us and love your pets and we know that even if you can’t donate any money, you can possibly share the Gofundme and link to your friends. We love you all so much and appreciate you taking the time to read this❤️
