Hi, I'm Abner. I need your help to pay the rent for my room. I am in the most difficult situation of my life. At the end of the month my dog Ramon and I will have to live on the streets.
The pandemic has affected us all but it left me with nothing. I am a visual artist. I arrived in Barcelona to request asylum in November 2019. I received threats against my life in Colombia for being gay, drag queen, queer. Then the pandemic started and since then things have gotten worse.
I invested all my savings in paying for a room thinking of finding a job. Today I am in limbo because I am not eligible to receive government aid and the jobs pass from me due to my immigration status. In March, I didn't even have money to buy food. I contacted the migrant support offices without any response. On one occasion thye authorized me to enter the community dining room twice in case I did not have to eat. Then during July and August I received some food donations. By this time anxiety and sadness were taking over me. When the confinement was lifted after the first wave of Coronavirus,I was able to get small jobs that helped me cover part of the debt that I had acquired since March with the rent, however the tranquility did not last long and the confinement returned. In November I suffered a nervous breakdown and was hospitalized for two weeks. Today I am alone in Barcelona, not friends or family. When I left the hospital, I adopted my dog Ramón. I needed his company to move on with my life and control the idea of taking my life.
In December I got a part time job as a package delivery man. There I earn 150 euros per month and this is not enough for me to pay the rent, much less my and Ramon's food.
the owner of the house we live in have esked me to leave the room at the end of the month if I cannot pay the rent. The person in the flat is not wealthy and also needs the money to complete the monthly payment.
Please help me pay for at least three months of rent and Ramon's and me food. I am asking for your support as the situation is already very difficult. I don't know what could happen if I have to live on the street. The rent is 400€ per month. With this I will have a period to focus on finding a better job and I will be able to cover our basic needs. Every donation counts, it does not matter that it is only 1€. Invertí todos mis ahorros en pagar una habitación pensando en encontrar un trabajo. Hoy estoy en un limbo pues no soy apto para recibir ayudas del gobierno y los trabajos pasan de emplearme por mi status migratorio. Ya en el mes de marzo no tenía dinero ni para comprar alimentos. Me comunique con las oficinas de apoyo al migrante sin respuesta alguna. En una ocasión me autorización acceder dos veces al comedor comunitario en caso que no tuviera que comer. Luego durante julio y agosto recibí algunas donaciones de alimentos. Para este momento la ansiedad y tristeza se apoderaban de mí. Cuando levantaron el confinamiento luego de la primera ola de Coronavirus puede obtener pequeños trabajos que me ayudaron a cubrir una fracción la deuda que había adquirido desde marzo con la renta, sin embargo la tranquilidad duro poco y el confinamiento volvió. En el mes de noviembre sufrí una crisis nerviosa y estuve hospitalizado por dos semanas. Hoy estoy solo en Barcelona pues no amigos ni familiares. Cuando salí del hospital adopté a Ramón mi perro. Necesitaba de la compañía de él para seguir adelante con mi vida y controlar un poco la idea de suicidarme.
En diciembre conseguí un trabajo de medio tiempo como repartidor de paquetes. Allí gano 150€ al mes y esto no me alcanza para pagar el alquiler y mucho menos la comida mia y de Ramon.
Me han pedido salir del cuarto a fin de mes si no puedo pagar la renta. La persona del piso tampoco cuenta con los medios para seguir siendo paciente y necesita el dinero para completar sus propios pagos mensuales.
Por favor ayúdenme a pagar por lo menos tres meses de renta y la comida mia y de Ramon. estoy pidiendo su apoyo pues la situación ya es muy difícil. No se que pueda pasar si tengo vivir en la calle. La renta es de 400€ al mes. Con esto tendré un periodo para concentrarme en encontrar un mejor trabajo y podré cubrir con tranquilidad nuestras necesidades basicas.
