Help Little Leo Get a Knee & Have a Better Life

Hello everyone, my name is Gemma and I own 2 dogs. I can’t have children so my dogs ARE my babies. Our story may be a little graphic so consider this a trigger warning for anyone that has suffered a dog attack. Rox is a 5 year old cairn terrier cross that’s very anxious after he was viciously attacked by another dog, ripping his stomach open and he almost died but he’s a strong boy and fought through it! He became very, very anxious and had no trust with other dogs. He become so closed in his little mind that we lost our playful and confident baby boy. He wasn’t the same, he didn’t play or come out of his hiding spot and closed himself away from the world. A dog specialist encouraged me to get another dog, a companion/brother for Rox. This is where Leo comes into our story. We went to a breeders that seemed genuine and gave us all the correct paperwork and showed us the Mum and Dad of the puppies and showed us Leo of whom was a little clumsy but he was perfect. We had his records of the vet saying everything was good and Leo was healthy and fine; so we took him home. Rox and Leo clicked INSTANTLY! Rox came out of hiding and began playing with him, I cried because I hadn’t seen Rox play for almost a year and a half. They played tug of war, chased balls together, ran around and protected each other. They even slept in the same bed the first night. I finally had Rox back and that was thanks to our little angel Leo. They are both such important members of my family. I noticed Leo would often lift his back left leg and run around on 3 legs. The older and bigger he got the more often it would happen. I took him to his vets and we got a diagnosis of luxating patella and he didn’t have a whole knee cap. He was at the last and worst stage of it. They also said his back right leg was taking all of his weight and would require surgery on that knee cap too. This was right in the middle of me losing my job due to the coronavirus- I worked in a kitchen at a function room. Insurance wouldn’t cover it entirely because it was diagnosed a day before his claim began. So I have to find £2,500 to be able to help my little angel. I know it’s hard times for everyone right now and I know I more than likely will never ever raise that much money, but miracles can happen and maybe this can be my chance at a miracle in life. Thank you if you got this far reading. Thank you if you donate, even just 50p would mean the world. I’m currently selling everything I own to get the money too. Every time I sell something I’ll lower the target because I’m genuine and wouldn’t take advantage of anyone like some do on here. Thank you Gemma, Rox & Leo
