We are excited to announce that Joseph Badger Middle School level Destination Imagination team has qualified for the 2016 Global Competition in Knoxville Tennessee. The team placed 3rd out of 11 teams in the State Tournament. It has been 7 years since a team at our school has been able to participate in this competition. Globals brings competitors from 15 countries around the world and is a week long event.
The students and chaperones will stay at the University of Tennessee and attend daily workshops and compete in two challenges.
The team has chosen Musical Mashup, and were challenged to create a musical instrument capable of supporting weight. They work together as a team and their unique approach to a structure played a key role in their advancement to Globals.
The team must also participate in an instant challenge. They will have no knowledge of their task before the contest and they must create a solution before the clock runs out!
This team is a group of very different kids that work together seamlessly. They live in Hartford and Kinsman Ohio and they need your support to travel to Knoxville Tennessee for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
How can you help? Each donation to our program will go to the Badger Middle School PTO and will pay for lodging and food for the students so that they may participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Badger Middle School PTO is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and those requesting it will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
Please consider helping these children achieve this once in a lifetime experience. When they realized they had qualified for a trip to Globals their grins couldn't have been bigger. This year they have a truly unique structure and they have worked hard to come this far. Please help us send them to the next level and create memories that will last a lifetime.
