Hi, my name is Molly Penney and I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend Mahmoud.

Mahmoud’s mum and sisters have been living in a tent in Rafah since they were forcibly displaced from their home in Gaza. Their home has since been destroyed, and the homes of their extended family members still remain too unsafe to reach.

Mahmoud is able to directly transfer any funds raised to his family. Funds will be used to help with heating their home, rebuilding their lives and basic living expenses- with prices soaring, these funds will be essential.

Mahmoud, who is currently studying in the UK, has worked multiple jobs in order to send money back to his family.

Mahmoud wrote the following:

‘I was born and raised in the village of Khuza’a in the south of the Gaza Strip. This is where I spent my entire childhood - where I went to elementary, middle and high school. It’s where my family built our lives, where my home stood, where my brother’s home was, and where the homes of my uncles were.

In the blink of an eye, everything is gone. Our entire village has been devastated. The houses, the streets, the memories - everything was destroyed.

Khuza’a was more than just a place. It was our past, our present, and the home we dreamed of for the future. Now it’s all been reduced to rubble.

We lost everything we owned in Gaza - our people, our homes, our memories, our dreams. But we will never lose hope, and we will never give up our right to freedom.

This brutal occupation can destroy our houses, but it will never break our spirit. Free Palestine. Ahmdellah.’
