Emergency surgery!

Yesterday started out as a normal day and changed in a matter of second. My 10 month old Great Dane, Hank, was playing outside when a bird feeder fell over and shattered, severing his Achilles tendon. He had an open wound and was bleeding profusely. We are so thankful for Dr. Jen who came to the house and performed life saving measures to control the bleeding before we could transfer him to the hospital. Hank was so patient and trusting while we worked in the garage to save his life! We rushed him to the emergency vet where he was taken in and stabilized. He needs emergency surgery to repair his tendon and wash out his wound. This surgery is our only option for Hank to be able to live a normal life. He needs to have this surgery within the next 24 hours before his tendon retracts up into his leg and an infection develops. If he does not have this surgery, then he will lose all function in his leg, and will have to be euthanized. Due to him being a very large breed, he cannot live without his leg. Hank has changed our lives for the better. He is a friendly, fun-loving puppy who will make you smile no matter how your feeling. He has become an emotional support animal to help with my anxiety. He is always riding in the car with us and going everywhere that we go. He is an integral part of our family and we can’t live without him! We need help to be able to pay for the life-saving surgery and the extensive rehab to follow. I ask that you please help in any way that you can. Every bit helps!
