Kelly Potts here gearing up for another summer of providing free surfing clinics for our indigenous girls and women in the Northwest, and I need your help to make it happen!
Last year's Indigenous Surfer Girls Retreats were a major success in big part and thanks to those who supported my GoFundMe campaign! Mahalo to all who contributed!
The funding from this campaign will allow me to provide FREE surfing clinic retreats for girls and women in these places:
Makah in Neah Bay, WA
Tolowa in Crescent City, CA
Siletz in Newport, OR
Having these funds before the events begin in August will be most helpful.
This will be my fourth year hosting these events, and each year they are more powerful than the last. At Crescent City we had 30 participants and nearly 40 volunteers show up because they were so excited to be a part of this event.
In Newport, the Siletz Tribe girls came to surf for the first time with their moms and aunties, and are now able to continue getting on the water with Northwest Wahines ongoing surfing camps.
The connections we all make with each other and the ocean is heartwarming and life-changing. I want to keep providing this experience, and keep building positive, supportive, female surfing communities.
