Renee Jorden

The pandemic has been rough on families across the world. It has effected communities and families in ways we could not have imagined. Some are able to recover and for others it seems almost impossible. Depending on how you look at it. It’s Impossible or I’m possible.

Renee has always had the perspective of I’m possible. Even in strife she finds ways to make the impossible, possible. Imagine your mother going in and out the hospital, your son having back to back strokes, your husband being diagnosed with cancer, a tree falling on your home in a storm, being trapped in the house with the tree on top of it and a gas leak that you can’t smell because your nose was broken from the incident, having to be rescued from the debris of a home you rebuilt with your own hands after it was set on fire years ago, not fully recovering from your own injuries because you have to remove the tree from your home so the power can be restored for your husband to come home for his post cancer surgery, all to lose your husband with his battle to cancer during this horrendous time, all at the SAME TIME. Renee is the true meaning of all things POSSIBLE. Not for one second did she skip a beat on making things happen. With 6 stiches in her face, broken nose, 15 staples in her head, and some head damage, she still managed to pull herself from that physical pain and find a way to make sure her husband can come home for his post cancer surgery and be comfortable. As comfortable as he could be in a home where half of it was inhabitable. With some help from a local and kind contractor, she was able to get the tree removed and the power back on. However, the damage is still done. Renee has lost so much in these few months alone and never once complained. She just takes the cards she is dealt and makes the best of them. As she would say “Ain’t no need in complaining, nobody is going to listen anyway, just gotta get up and get it done.” Today we ask that you listen, our beloved Renee has lost most of her home and her husband. How can the home be where the heart is if her home and her heart are broken? We kindly ask for assistance in helping with the repair of our beloved Renees home with the attempts it will repair her broken heart and restore some of the love and memories she lost in the storm and in the passing of her beloved Husband Norris Jorden. Anyone that knows Renee knows she is an amazing crafts woman! Even with all of the strife she has had to endure she is still optimistic about restoring her home and keeping busy while she grieves. She is not and never has been a victim of circumstance but more of a victor of any circumstance thrown her way. Some people can’t recover from these types of circumstances, whether that be mentally or physically, but Renee is determined to not let her home or husbands legacy go in vain. Please support this cause in anyway you can. Help us bring victory to a family that, circumstantially, should have fallen victim. It is our responsibility as a community to help one another get across. Thank you in advance for all of the support and kindness shown during this complex time to help this family that has helped and fed anyone that has come to her door for over 25 years. Lets make ensure that Renee has a door for family, friends, loved ones and sometimes strangers to continue to come to and feel the love they need, share the laughs, and eat the amazing food that is always the prepared with love. With winter nearing in Gary Indiana we want to get started on her rebuild project as quickly as possible. If you can not donate financially, volunteered time or materials to rebuild would help immensely as well!
