Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Wayne is battling brain cancer. Stage 4 Glioblastoma. It is so hard to see this man going through so much! Watching his decline has been hard on those who know him best & love him the most! In May, Wayne started complaining of having very bad headaches. He pushed through pain and worked everyday! He asked me to make him an appointment with the eye dr! He thought maybe he just needed new glasses! In June the doctor noticed a lot of pressure behind his right eye. Eye glasses were ordered but he had trouble seeing. In July, Wayne went back for more testing and had a MRI. His decline started and went rapidly. Family, friends & co workers noticed something wasn’t right. Wayne himself noticed a change but, he kept it to himself. On July 24th he got the news he had a brain tumor. On July 25th he fell 3 times. We were waiting on an appointment with neurologist. He never got to go to that! On July 27th I took him to the Er. His headache was unbearable and he was becoming weaker everyday. On a scale to 1-10 his headache was a 30! He has a high pain tolerance and couldn’t take anymore. He was admitted to the hospital where he remained for 26 days. Having a biopsy on the tumor. He had repeated MRI’s & Ct Scans! He then endured days of repeated physical therapy. He regained some strength. His pain has not been under 12! That’s as low as they have gotten it. Even on morphine. The big day came August 21st and he finally got to come home. He was doing good. Went to radiation and took chemo pills until he had to return to the Er and admitted once again on August 29th. This time for pneumonia. He aspirated food, fluid & liquid. He was put on oxygen & then bipap. He was facing going on a ventilator! He had a Bronchoscopy on September 1st to clear some of the fluid from his lungs and stayed on bipap after. On September 2nd they called our daughter and myself to come talk to the doctors. They told us there was nothing more they could do for him! They weaned his oxygen down to send him home with hospice to die! Everyday is a treasure and everyday is spent seeing to his every need or want! I take in his scent, his voice, his beautiful eyes and pray a lot! Praying for God to ease his fears, ease his pain & give us more time! Cancer is horrible to see someone you love go through such pain! The hospital bills are now coming in and in staggering amounts! I’m not sure how to cover his bills. Thank You for taking the time to read his story! Please keep us in your prayers as we aren’t sure how much time he has left with us! Hospice doesn’t think it will be long! Saying goodbye will not come easy! He was a good provider, protector & father! His only child will be losing her super hero & best friend! No man can ever come close to being the man & father he has been! The hardest worker I’ve ever met! Our daughter has been our biggest blessing! Please pray for her as losing daddy will be the hardest on her!
