Dear family and friends,
As most of you already know, Chris and I are currently pursuing domestic adoption. We have been trying to conceive for about two and a half years, but it has been unsuccessful. Even though we've always had a desire to adopt one day, it became more real to us about six months ago when we felt strongly led by the Lord in this direction. Chris and I thought and prayed about it a lot, and made a decision to begin the adoption process. Our 6-year old son Matthew has been asking for a baby-brother or baby-sister for a very long time! Imagine how excited he was when we told him about the adoption!
When we researched more about the process of adoption, we learned that it is very expensive. It could cost anywhere between $25,000 - $45,000 to adopt a baby in the United States. This includes the application fee, the fee to the agency to maintain our case, the fees for any legal paperwork, home study fees, background checks, parent trainings, biological mother's medical and/or travel expenses, our travel expenses, etc. We have already paid our first fee, which was $5,900, to our adoption agency in Colorado, and soon will need to make more payments to the placement agency. As soon as we are matched with the biological mother (which could happen in a couple of months), we will have to pay up front a half of the entire amount – around $15,000. We are trying to be frugal in our every day life, put some money into savings when possible and are planning on holding a few fundraisers in our town. However, with Chris being the only breadwinner in our family of three right now, this still puts us in a very difficult financial situation.
Chris and I would like to ask you to be our adoption sponsors! There is no required amount of how much you should donate; you can donate as much as you are willing or able. We will highly appreciate every dollar! You might think that you can’t donate because you believe it has to be a significant amount. Let us assure you that this is not the case. If you can give $10, $15, or $20 and share our story with three or four friends who can also give $10, $15, or $20 to our cause, the results can be astounding! So, please seriously consider supporting us financially!
We are very grateful for all your prayers and would like to ask you to continue lifting up our family before God as we are going through the adoption journey. Your financial and moral support means so much to us! We know we cannot do this without your help!
