<div>On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 storm — the strongest to hit the island on record.

<div>Massive winds, torrential rain, and floodwaters swept through many communities, destroying homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Tragically, so far 24 lives have been lost, and thousands more have been displaced.

</div>

</div>

<div>Many areas remain cut off, with blocked roads, power outages, and urgent needs for shelter, food, clean water, and rebuilding.

</div>

<div><strong>Who I am</strong>

<div>My name is Mrs. Norma Morrison. I was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, but grew up in Kingston. I now live in the United States, but Jamaica will always be home. Seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa has deeply touched my heart, and I am determined to help those affected. I am currently not in the financial position to do this on my own, and that is why I am creating this fundraiser.

<div>This fundraiser is dedicated to the residents of Black River and surrounding communities who have been severely impacted by the hurricane. Many families have lost everything — their homes, belongings, and, heartbreakingly, their loved ones and sense of security.
