Hi, I’m fundraising for the Medina family who unfortunately has lost a mother/ aunt who was the wife of Ricardo Medina. This was created for funerals expenses and family support. On August 6, Maria Elena Donis and her daughter were praying on their room getting ready to go to bed when all of a sudden Elena couldn’t get up on her own and her daughter had to help her get up and sit on the bed. The daughter noticed that her mouth was not normal, it was moved to one side and couldn’t speak. One of her eyes closed and couldn’t keep it open. That’s when the daughter called the ambulance. She was taken to the ER at Mercy and they connected her with the ventilator because she wasn’t able to breath on her own to well. By this time she wasn’t responsive. The doctor than came and tell them that a vein collapsed on her brain and that she didn’t have a chance to survive. than she was moved to the ICU floor. Her blood pressure was really high and her heart rate was fast. Two days later, her vital signs were stable and also her oxygen. The doctors and nurses were doing evaluations everyday to see if she had reflexes and she did had a few which was a gag reflex and moving her legs, but still her brain was not responding. A week later, the doctors said that she wasn’t doing any better and the reflexes she had were lost. She was getting worst and her blood pressure was below than the average number and her heart rate was slower and that her heart could stop in any day. Unfortunately, today, August 19 at 5:30 a.m. the family were notified that she passed away. We ask for your help as now her daughter Noami is alone having to deal with stress and mental anguish from her mother’s death and also from her father’s death which was a few weeks ago who died of a heart attack. El 6 de agosto, María Elena Donis y su hija estaban orando en su habitación preparándose para irse a la cama cuando de repente Elena no podía levantarse sola y su hija tuvo que ayudarla a levantarse y sentarse en la cama. La hija notó que su boca no era normal, estaba movida hacia un lado y no podía hablar. Uno de sus ojos se cerró y no pudo mantenerlo abierto. Fue entonces cuando la hija llamó a la ambulancia. La llevaron a la sala de emergencias de Mercy y la conectaron con el ventilador porque no podía respirar bien por sí sola. En ese momento ella no respondía. Luego vino el médico y les dijo que una vena colapsó en su cerebro y que no tenía oportunidad de sobrevivir. Despues la trasladaron al piso del cuidado intensivo. Su presión arterial era muy alta y su frecuencia cardíaca era rápida. Dos días después, sus signos vitales estaban estables y también su oxígeno. Los médicos y las enfermeras hacían evaluaciones todos los días para ver si tenía reflejos y tenía algunos, que eran un reflejo nauseoso y movía las canillas, pero aún así su cerebro no respondía. Una semana después, los médicos dijeron que ella no estaba mejorando y que los reflejos que tenía se habían perdido. Estaba empeorando y su presión arterial estaba por debajo del número promedio y su frecuencia cardíaca era más lenta y su corazón podía detenerse en cualquier día. Desafortunadamente, hoy 19 de agosto a las 5:30 a.m. se notificó a la familia que ella falleció. Pedimos su ayuda ya que ahora su hija Noami está sola y tiene que lidiar con el estrés y la angustia mental por la muerte de su madre y también por la muerte de su padre, que fue hace unas semanas que falleció de un ataque de corazón.
