Alaskan commerical fishing venture
My name is Matt Scroggins. I am a delivery driver for Papa John's and Jimy John's in Birmingham Alabama that has been trying to get back to school for the better part of the last three years. I have been offered a position working on a commercial fishing boat this summer in Alaska and the funds could go a long way towards paying off some debt and creating some stability in my life so that I could focus on school without the constant stress of being behind on bills or some other kind of financial catastrophe. I do have a little over half of my trip and expnses for this venture taken care of but I need help paying for my commerical license, fishing gear that I will need, a ferry ticket from Prince Rupert to Ketchikan and to cover the costs of my health insurance while I am fishing this summer. I need the money asap as I'm planning to leave town on Friday (I was given the affirmative on the position really late in the planning process) so that I can make it to Ketchikan in time to secure my position on a boat. The money I can make fishing this summer should set me up with enough savings to be able to spend more time focusing on school in the spring and to pursue some business ventures that could help boost my regular income. In addition my brother and his wife are expecting their first child in July and I should have enough money to be able to lend them support for a few weeks if they need it for any reason without worrying about paying basic bills. I've been trying to get back to school for the better part of three years and I believe that this will help set me up being able to do that with some stability so that I can focus on classes.
In addition, I would like to set up repayment options for all who contribute to my campaign. My plan is to reimburse everyone who contributes to this campaign +20% of the total investment they give. If an individual contributes the whole amount. I will round up the reimbursment from $1560 which is the total amount I would pay out at the end of summer for the support to $1600.
