PIKELET'S Gear Stolen! Chip in!!

Hi! I'm Kris Keogh, a mate of Evelyn Morris aka PIKELET.  She needs no introduction, she's a legend. I've set up this crowdfunding campaign on her behalf, with her OK. I do all the boring internet admin so Ev can have one less thing to stress about.

So, now we've got that out of the way, here's the deal:

Sometime overnight on the 11-12 May 2016, pretty much all of Evelyn's musical instruments, effects, PA gear and extras (leads, apators, etc) were stolen from her locked car in Preston, Victoria.

Police haven't been very interested in tracking down the thieves... So, with recovery of the goods looking unlikely, this campaign has been started so Evelyn can replace the equipment she needs to perform. And FAST!

Her album launch for the new PIKELET album 'Tronc' (her best yet I reckon) is in less than two week's time, and she heads off for several months of gigs in Europe in three week's time.

Ev, while currently working through a shitload of disappointment and stress, has done a rough estimate of what it will cost to replace everything. She's conservatively estimated $7500.

So, lets all dig deep and chip in to help her out at a time when she really needs it.

Given she's spent the last few years working tirelessly for the scene (starting LISTEN, etcetcetc), let's show her how much she's valued and appreciated. And so she can keep making rad music, obviously.

Ev has promised that if any of her stolen gear turns up, she will donate any new equpment bought to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, cause she's awesome enough to be thinking about others, even when things are shit for her.

Finally, here's a direct message from Evelyn:

"Thanks to everyone who has shared the list of gear around trying to find things and thanks to my housemates for being super hug-ready coz I was in full meltdown territory when this happened..

I've worked really hard to get ready for my launch, and had finally got my setup working well out of scraped-together gear etc... But ultimately even if they find some of the gear it won't give me any time to prepare for the launch and probably won't get to me in time before I head overseas in June. Sooo... Yeah if the gear ends up turning up I will have some stuff to donate to Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

Plus no matter what happens I will donate 10% of whatever we earn to the Warriors of Aboriginal Resistance because we are living on stolen land so paying the rent is important.

Also huugest thanks to Kris for setting this up and also to James Basler who also set one up real quick that we're trying to roll into this one coz we like Gofundme.

I am so moved by how the musical community I'm a part of is so ready to take care of each other. I've felt that while running LISTEN the last couple years as well. If you can't donate I really truly understand too. Heaps of people have it tougher than I do!"
