One Purpose School Annual Fund

Three years ago, I reconnected with Daniel McLaughlin, an education entrepreneur who had successfully started and scaled Envision Schools, a network of charter high schools in the Bay Area. He had a vision to create a new school starting at pre-K and scaling through high school. His vision was to serve underserved communities and kids of San Francisco with an educational option that would set up its students to attend and graduate from college. I was inspired by this vision and agreed to help start the effort with a first gift of $25,000 and an agreement to join its board. With this idea and commitment from many people, the One Purpose School was born.

In August of 2015, One Purpose opened its doors and welcomed its first three grades of students. The first year has been marked by the ups and downs common with any start up organization, but the growth, development and progress of the students has been exciting and inspiring (Need help with what to say).

As we end the first year and prepare for the expansion in year two, we continue to fund the school through a combination of funds available to charter schools, grants and donations.

To see how your donation will affect the lives of children and help create a better future for them and their families, watch the video.
