This is Virgil william jackson, he is 13 years old. This past Saturday after getting too hot playing in the 100 degree weather here in oklahoma he had a series of seizures and has been unconscious since then. The doctors think they have narrowed the cause down to a ​Enterovirus encephalitis or autoimmune encephalitis. There have only been 3 cases recorded so they have very little data to go off of. The OU childrens hospital in Oklahoma City have put together a panel of 12 very efficient drs to overlook Wills case because of its rarity. They have been giving him plasma transfusions, arctic blankets, medications, and anything else they think will help, and working to get his fever down to help prevent any further damage to his brain. MRI’s came back and said there was significant brain damage, and his life would be different after he wakes, but we don’t know in what ways. Will is a strong boy and has been fighting the odds ever since the day he was born, we have faith that he will pull through this and be the same Will we all know and love. No one can actually say what effects the damage will have but with the Lord looking over him, we have no doubt that Will is going to make a full recovery! We just cant say when unfortunately. Today is thursday and last night/ this morning will has been stable and resting peacefully for what feels like the first time since this happened. He was flown to Oklahoma city to the childrens hospital for the best care, and because of the covid they are only allowing one parent in at a time, and one must be present at all times leaving both parents not currently working and having to stay close. We are asking for the support at this time of all friends and family members, we know Will is very special to all who have met him. We know that this is a very hard time for all of us, We ask for your continued support and prayers for Will. through the gathering of many prayers Will, will be healed! Through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, this young man will walk away from this and live the rest of his life as joyful and vigorously as he always has!
