Two Veterans facing homelessness

My name is Nicole and I'm about to be a homeless veteran statistic.
As some of you know, John and I got out of the Air Force and Navy respectively last year. It has been a struggle the entire time, but things were finally starting to look up.
John was offered a job in Chicago, so we scraped every penny together to move from Hawaii to Florida. After he completed training, we packed everything into a U-Haul and moved in to an apartment! Even better, I was accepted into University of Illinois at Chicago for the Fall semester.
As a veteran, John also would have been granted years of seniority for his military service. Sounds great right?
Unfortunately, every step of the hiring process has been more complicated as a vet. Lost paperwork, missed training, misinformation about pay; you name it! Then, while he was still within his probation period the Union decided to seize a small mistake and get him fired to make sure he would not have a chance to get that seniority.
Now we are over a thousand miles away from any support while behind on bills and completely broke. Please help us make it back to Florida if you can. We appreciate any donations or simply passing along the the page.
We are not work shy either and welcome any employment offers as well.
