The global project

Exile 2.0 is a multimedia documentary that I started in October 2015 from France about the migration crisis the Western and Occidental countries are facing today.
The concept of this project is to feature the global picture of the situation all over Europe and middle East.
As I'm a nomadic filmmaker using to live, film and work on different locations all along the year, he decided few months ago to use my capacity to move, to travel, to help and document the refugees situation along the Balkans route, the camps, the Greek islands, the border countries of Syria etc ...

The focus of the documentary, more than enlightening the refugees stories, troubles, hopes and dreams, is to help them the most efficient way.
That's why I have been volunteering and have been staying longer in each location he has been filming : to get to know deeper and better the specific situation on the field.

Exile 2.0 - Chapter I

These conditions and issues belonging to a specific camp, country or city, are completely changing from a place to another and that's why it is crucial to understand each ones to help the most efficiently the people needs over there.
Then being helping might means getting involved in NGOs, taking part of groups actions driven by local people, investigating all alone etc ...
The help can go from collecting clothes donations, to serving tea in the camps, giving useful informations about the different routes to follow, driving injured refugees from beaches to bus and hospital, searching for Syrian families struggling to survive in Turkish cities, educating refugee kids in local schools etc ...

Well, to be fair, helping to improve this catastrophic migration crisis is all but easy and knowing how and how to help is a crucial question that this documentary try to answer.

Then after this first part I decided to carry on my exploration journey and to help and document another migration, the african one.
I went to Morocco to try to understand the differencies and to help the migrants there as I could and here it is ...

The Fundraising

This fundraising is specifically made to improve the life conditions of Unaccompanied Migrants Children in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
Located in the district of Takadom, Camara Mafa and his organisation AAMM are taking care about two "foyer" for the migrants.

These two places are mainly hosting Unaccompanied Migrants Children as they are the most vulnerable. As many of the migrant in the country these kids are living without any help.

They are alone, without money and support so their daily life is mainly spent on begging in the street to find enough money to survive and they can't do anything else more than worrying about where they will sleep the next day, what they will eat etc ... most of them have lost their parents due to the troubles back in their homeland, plenty of these young people are facing racism and violence from everywhere ...

So Camara started to run these two places to enable these teenagers to rest and at least, to have a place to stay ... He shown me the places ... and here it is :

As I'm trying to fight for the future (trying to raise awareness within the  youth for them to build a better future), I founded the situation of these young west africans heart breaking as they are stuck in this horrible present, unable to do anything more than to survive.

Then, I decided to try to improve their life thanks to your help.
More than bringing them food or clothes etc ... I want them to be able to improve their life in the long run, to be able to learn, to go to school or even to earn a bit of money they could use for something else ...

Then I met the householder of the flat, I spoke with her and Camara and I decided to try to rent the flat for a year which would give these kids the time and the opportunity to use their time more usefully.

To pay for the flat is to relieve them from the question : How will I find enough money this month to pay the rent ?

This time gained will be used to study, to learn and to make their life here more sustainable (like improving the place they are living in by painting, fixing the walls, the windows and doors, having a decent kitchen and bathroom, cleaning the flat and to isolate the rooms to reduce the risks of diseases ...)
At the moment they can't do anything of this as they don't even know if they will be able to stay for the next week, that's why we truly believe that the first step of a better life condition is to have a sustainable place to stay.

Then, based on our calculations with the householder and Camara, we estimated the rent for a year to 3000€.
(2500dh ~ 250€ per months)

I'm asking your help and support to enable these kids to have a place to survive and to build a better life.
The winter is also coming soon and it'd be brillant to gather enough money before it gets too cold.

All together, by joining our resources and good willing, we can change the life of the lonely children of Rabat.
We think that there's no better way to use the money as it's going straight on the field and you'll see its impact on the kids life pretty quickly as we will keep you in touch and will stay in touch with you for you to know how is their situation improving.

We're now waiting for your help for their dream to become reality.

Much love.
Felix brassier.
