Noah's Lourdes Pilgrimage

My nephew, Noah, has the opportunity to go on the Lourdes Pilgrimage in France . Lourdes is a major place of Catholic pilgrimage and miraculous healings.

It is very important to us because Noah needs a miracle. Noah was diagnosed four years ago with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is listed as the most common form of muscular dystrophy in children.  It affects 1 in 3,500 boys.  It appears between the ages of 2 and 6.  The muscles decrease in size and grow weaker over time yet may appear larger.  Disease progression varies, but many sufferers need a wheelchair by the age of 12. In most cases, the arms, legs, and spine become progressively deformed.  Severe breathing and heart problems mark the later stages of the disease.  Sufferers usually die in their late teens or early 20s.

The Lourdes Pilgrimage is important for more than one reason. Even if the miracle that we pray for doesn't happen, Noah will be able to go on this pilgrimage before he is wheelchair bound, giving him a fantastic life experience! And surely, where there is God, there are miracles! 

Please help my family give Noah every opportunity for a miracle. Any donations will be used for his travel expenses, and that of his companions, his mom and dad. 

If for some reason Noah cannot go on the pilgrimage, all donations will be forwarded to CureDuchenne.org to help find a cure.
