In loving memory of Amanda Black

GABRIOLA, BC And Fort St John

Tragedy has struck the Black family, owners of Gabriola’s WHEELBARREL NURSERY for the past 18 years. Two days ago, Amanda Black, the beloved 22-year-old granddaughter of Linda and Butch and daughter of new Gabriola resident Rick Black, was a victim of domestic violence. She was brutally taken from this world and her baby boy  Jasper has been left behind in Fort St John without any parents to care for him.

We want to help the Black family gain some closure for this huge loss. Our goal is to raise enough money to really help support the family in a time of great sadness and grief, and With time off work, these mounting expenses will be too much of a burden to handle as the family grieves the loss of beautiful Amanda.


As I know Gabriolans and friends and family in Fort St John take pride is caring and supporting their local families, we are asking for any financial support you can spare to help the Black family in this time of need.

For others who come to this page through a member of the Black family or as a friend of Amanda’s, I thank you for your support.

I also ask that we respect the privacy of the Black family as the family grieves their tragic and traumatic loss.
