Help Kaiser Beat Cancer!

Donation protected

Kaiser Illidan Soze has been my baby since he was 8 weeks old. He just turned a happy 7 years old three weeks ago on April 19th.

Kaiser's been excessively licking his butt lately and we thought he needed his anal glands expelled so we took him in on April 30th to get them taken care of. Unfortunately the vet came back and told us that he has a tumor there instead. We took tests and were told that his tumor was abnormally larger than normal and that we'd have to take him to an emergency hospital. Last Thursday we were able to fit Kaiser in to see an oncologist and surgeon and the worst of our fears happened. Kaiser has been diagnosed with apocrine adenocarcinoma of the anal sac, otherwise known as anal gland cancer. Though rare, it's a bad cancer with a bad outlook. Even worse is that Kaiser's tumor is so large, it puts him into high risk surgery. It's been a lot to take in this last week and a half, being told by the doctor that your dog may only have a year left in him.

My sadness came from knowing how young Kaiser is and how most dogs affected by this cancer are over the age of 10. I'm trying to stay positive but it's been really difficult. My hope is that Kaiser can stay with me long enough to meet my kids someday. I've always imagined Kaiser laying his head on their chubby little legs ... he's always had such a gentle and loving soul.

After today's ultrasound (May 10th) the doctor has determined that though the cancer has fortunately not spread to his liver, it has, however, affected his lymph nodes which we now have to remove before the cancer spreads to the rest of his body. With more procedures, come more costs. While the costs are high, I can't stand by and do nothing to try and help my baby live as long, as comfortably, and as happy as possible.

This GoFundMe account is made for Kaiser. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to his medical costs which are totaled beyond $13,000. This includes his office visits, cytology, x-rays, ultrasound, operation/surgery, chemotherapy, as well as medications he'd take home with him.

For those of you who know me well, it's really hard for me to ask for help ... however, Kaiser is my number one priority, my baby, my love, and I'll do whatever it takes to save him. For anyone who has also been loved/touched by Kaiser or anyone who simply wants to help possibly save a life, please feel free to donate or just share his story with others.

From the entirety of our hearts, thank you.
