I have been honored to serve as the authorized rep for Bernie '16 here in DE and will be going to the DNC to both coordinate our pledged Bernie delegates and serve on the Rules Committee. Help me relieve some of the financial burden of this service!

Why do people going to the convention need money? Can't you commute or stay with a friend?
Early mornings and very late nights are to be expected. Because credentials are given early in the morning at your state's assigned hotel, most states and campaigns either strongly encourage or require you to stay in your assigned hotel (in my case, it is required). This is also a good opportunity for the hotels to hike up the rates, so it's not cheap. The least expensive available room in our hotel is $309/night + taxes.
Aren't you fundraising for the entire DE Delegation? Why do you have your own Go Fund Me?
Seeing the enormous stress caused by the cost of going to the convention, I have been fundraising like mad for anyone in the DE Delegation who has asked for help (both pledged Bernie AND Clinton delegates). However, I have encouraged everyone to also do their own fundraising as I know in this short amount of time we cannot get everyone fully covered. Additionally, because I will be allocating the raised funds, I do not think it approriate to dispense them to myself.
If I want to give money to be dispensed to others in the DE Delegation who need help, how do I do that?
Due to FEC regulations, do NOT do that here. Instead, send a check to our fiscal sponsor, Progressive Democrats For Delaware. You MUST include "delegation" in the memo for the funds to be allocated properly:

Raising money for this delegation isn't glamorous and it may not seem as obvious of a use for your money as causes, non-profits, or candidates but it is important. No matter what you think about the current state of our party, it is remarkable that we converge on one city in this huge country every 4 years to engage in the messy but worthwhile process of picking our nominee for POTUS.
