Funeral expenses for Monica

Donation protected

Monica Channary Teap was born February 10th, 1990. She was the middle child of 5. She loved her family; her parents, her siblings, and all of her siblings kids. She referred to all her younger cousins, nieces and nephews as "her babies" and loved them just as if they were.

She was fiercely protective of her family and friends and was always there for them no matter what, even when she had nothing left to give.

When she was around 15 or 16, she was diagnosed with lupus. For those that don't know, lupus is a disease where the body attacks itself. She struggled for years with one problem after another but she always kept her head up and put herself out there, no matter how many hospital trips she made or how much it took out of her. She loved others more than herself and always tried to make sure it was known. She made friends everywhere and with everyone: at school, at work, and in the hospital.

Recently, her health took another turn for the worst. Her kidneys had been failing her for a long time and she had been given the run around with getting put on a transplant list. She remained positive through it though but recently her heart started failing her. She had been having trouble for a long time, being unable to sleep more than an hour or two a night here and there, going to dialysis nearly every day, and fighting off one sickness after another.

Still, she wanted to give back, even going so far as to get a job at the YMCA as a YPlay Attendant. She loved her job, loving children more than anything, always having wanted one of her own.

She tried to live a good life, surrounded by her family and friends as much as possible, even when she was struggling.

On December 23nd, at 10:03 a.m., her struggles finally ended and she no longer has to fight or feel pain. We are glad that she can finally rest but the loss has rocked the family hard as it was very unexpected considering how much of a fighter she was.

The family is coming to you now asking for help in the wake of her unexpected, devastating loss. Just two days from Christmas, we're not sure how to fund a funeral, although we're all coming together to pool whatever we can. We still need help though. Monica was also proudly Cambodian, which comes with its own funeral practices that the family must observe, so we are funding a little more than one western-style funeral.

Whatever you can give is extremely appreciated, even if all you can do is share. After everything she did for others, please help us give her a proper sendoff.

Thank you,
The Teap Family
