Aspire NI

70% of children on free school meals attaining less than 5 GCSE’s. Aspire aim to help these young people so their education is not determined by their economic background.

We mainly do 3 things:

In these sessions young people are invited to our centre after school where they can complete their homework. They have facilitators provided by Aspire who will assist them in taking ownership of their own workload. They will help the children to complete their school work and seek out any areas where the child may need help. The young people are also provided with desks, laptops and any resource needed for school work.

For young people who take part in our after-school sessions who are struggling with any subjects, Aspire will endeavour to link this young person to a suitable tutor from our bank of volunteers who is qualified in this subject and provide a period of free tuition.

Education is not just what happens in the classroom, but can be fun too. Aspire activities are monthly activities for young people ran by local churches where learning is combined with leisure such as sports or music lessons.
