Automotively Challenged...

My 23-year-old Toyota Camry (which has also recently served as my "mobile home") has finally decided to begin falling apart now. I purchased it just a few months ago because, even at its age, Toyota Camry's have a great reputation for reliability & durability. (The photo is an approximation of what my car currently looks like.)
However, I'm now faced with the dilemma of either having to spend big money (for me, at least) to make the necessary repairs to have it be roadworthy again or possibly just selling it outright for far below market value to a salvage company & take another chance on another "beater."
Either way, I'm going to need the funds to make something happen.  And, I'm asking for your help.
Every little bit helps. A handful of small contributions will add up, thus getting me closer to either being able to fund the repairs to my car &/or finding a (slightly newer?) replacement vehicle.

Note: the target goal amount is for the worse-case scenario of replacing the car.

Until recently, I had been able to make ends meet. When the 2008 recession hit, I was laid-off from my long-term job. Since then, I have alternated between accepting short-term/temp assignments & drawing from unemployment insurance benefits.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't resort to this sort of thing, but I've pretty much on my own. I do not have a lot of family to fall back upon.
