23 and fighting

Meet Jason Oliveira, the only 23 year old survivor of cancer I have personally met. Just a couple of months ago. Jason started having abdominal pain which was diagnosed as an infection in the colon. After multiple failed treatments and hospitalization. A decision was made by multiple medical staff to remove over 75 percent of his large colon to get rid of the problem. As they had feared, the infection was more than just an abscess. It was stage 3 colon cancer that had attached to the muscle wall of his stomach and spread to 2 local lymph nodes. Although he is now on the road to recovery and chemo treatments in his future. His mother. A single mother of 2. Independently raising both with no financial support. She has had to miss a lot of work and has been struggling to keep her apartment paid for, during this exhausting time. She watched her father die of cancer when he was 36, she has the cancer gene in her and now has passed it onto her kids. I can only imagine her pain and fear watching her 23 year old son endure this. Her 16 year old now needs to go in for a colonoscopy as well for screening. The long story short. She is proud and would never ask for help from anyone. So I am starting this go fund me page for her. To help her get caught up... and hopefully give her some extra funds so she can take the time off where required help her son during this uphill battle.
