Camp Agaiutim Nune Missions Trip
I will be
spending 27 days with 15 other Southeastern University students as a counselor
at Camp Agaiutim Nune. Camp AN is located 17 miles up the Yukon River from the
village of Emmonak and is a rustic and undeveloped island with no electricity
or running water. The camp focuses on creating life changing opportunities for
the native Eskimo children to experience God in ways that they would
otherwise not have the opportunity to. Most of the youth that attend the camp
live in homes where they are abused and under-educated and have never heard the
Gospel or know of Jesus Christ. Our objective as counselors will be to love on
the youth and create an environment of safety, acceptance, and compassion so
they can come to know the love of God. Like any other youth camp we will be
spending a lot of time playing games, running around, and just being kids, but
most importantly our team is believing for life changing encounters with God in
the lives of the native children.
