So.. this is hard. It is truly physically painful to write.
I have been trying to come up with the courage and words to post an update on Dallas for 2 weeks now. Last March, after being sick for 2 months was diagnosed with Stage 4 Large B Cell Non-Hodkins Lymphoma.  The disease was in most organs and just everywhere.  He began chemotherapy and after his course of chemo treatments he was in full remission as of this last September 22nd.  We are so blessed.
About the same time that he went into remission he started to have severe right sided pain and numbness in areas and it started to get intolerable and it was spreading. We went to the ER at IU and Lutheran. They did numerous CT scans and MRIs all with out explanation.  He was inpatient at Lutheran and he was referred to a pain management doctor who slowly got his pain to a tolerable level.  It seemed to be mostly on the right hip down and some numbness began to come into the left side of his face. It was progressing. The doctors kind of just waved it into the unknown.
Then that same neurologist did a muscle conduction study on his muscles and the results were not good.  The doctor was apologetic after seeing the severity of muscle conduction and the extreme pain he had been telling all the doctors about.
They decided to do 3 spinal taps, as is the protocol when looking for certain diagnosis.  His spinal fluid came back with atypical cells...the cancer was back and it was positive for lymphoma in his spinal fluid.  He started doing chemo directly into his spinal to directly attack those lymphoma cells.
With in a week they also did a PET scan (a combination of a CT scan and a MRI) as well as lab tests and his oncologist spent hours reaching out to partners from other specialties and as well as contacting and consulting with the best of the best outside of Lutheran as well as colleques from the best known research centers. Chicago is the plan, for the best care. They are known for their lymphoma research and treatments.
Then it happened.... Dallas's PET scan results were back and the cancer could be seen throughout his body.  And this time it is also in his bones.  It is called stage 4 relapse for lack of a higher number rating system.
We just got all the results this past week.  There are not words to explain the feelings we felt.  His oncologist is doing everything to get Dallas admitted inpatient in Chicago to start the much stronger  chemo.  Insurance is fighting us but we are pulling every string. If he does not get the word to go straight to Chicago, then he will be admitted to Lutheran to get the chemotherapy started immediately then he will go the Chicago for therapy there after.
So there it is.  I have no other idea to describe what has been crushed and ripped out of our hearts in just a simple, short week.
God has a plan. I just do not understand why this has to be part of it.  I know the power of surrender, I have been there and can understand the purpose of my struggle. But, honestly I am not there yet.
I need my husband, our children need their father, and I cannot imagine having dinner at home and only placing 5 plates on the table.
PLEASE pray for Dallas and our family.
Yesterday, while having the worst disussion with the truth of what we are facing and trying to be honest but gentle, mainly.... the tears just ran and the words came out in bits and pieces.
In that moment, Talon looked at me and made the best explanation of where we have been and what we are up against now.
He said, "mom, the last time Daddy had cancer it was a battle, this time it is a war."
   Well said Talon,  well said...
We have many asking what they can do for us.... a friend pushed for me to reopen our go fund me site. This is the link for it below.
It was hard, reopening a reminder of last time and feeling confident that page/site was done, we made it into remission.
Reopening it was one of the harder things to do.
God wrote our books and His plans are mighty.  Pray for surrender, this is heavier than either of us can with stand.
