The Best of "Luck"

Meet Lucky. He is my family's newly rescued one year old golden lab mix.When we rescued him, Lucky was malnourished, emaciated, and neglected. Although obviously unloved by people until he got to us, he has proved to be one of the most trusting and loving dogs I've ever met. It truly feels like he understands that we rescued him and tries to thank us every day.

We recently found out that our Lucky has a genetic disorder called Hip Dysplasia in both hips. The only treatment for this disorder, and Lucky's only hope, is a total hip replacement on both of his hips.  Lucky is currently taking 3 medications to help his hip pain, but until he gets the surgery, his hips will continue to deteriorate. 

To no surprise, this kind of veterinary surgery is incredibly expensive. As a first year teacher, the price tag of Lucky's surgery is very overwhelming. So, I am now trying to come up with the funds to give my sweet Lucky boy a chance at a normal, happy, pain-free life. I'm selling things, gathering things for a garage sale, tutoring after school, thinking of fundraisers, and pinching my pennies every where I can to try to save money for Lucky's surgery. As soon as I can raise the funds, Lucky's surgery is a go!
