Love for Lila

Dear friends and family of Lila,
As many of you already know, Lila was diagnosed with breast cancer early this summer. She is scheduled for a mastectomy at a medical center in Milan the week of September 18th, at which time she will find out if any additional treatment is needed.
We created this page for Lila as a gathering place for her community — so that Lila can post updates, receive messages of support, read jokes (a specific request from Lila!), and more.
We also hope to provide some financial support to Lila and Paolo. Although Lila's primary health expenses are covered in Italy, the financial burden of cancer treatment adds up quickly: traveling back and forth from Sardinia to Milan for appointments (3 times already), genetic testing, other out-of-pocket medical expenses, childcare for the girls while she's receiving treatment, and taking time off work -- and that's just the last few weeks. We would love to help ease this stress by covering some of these costs. Anything we can all do will go a long way, but we understand not everyone can contribute. Simply being in touch is the greatest gift.
