6 Stand-Up Desks

My name is Jenni Wolfe and I have been a public school teacher for close to 30 years.  I am raising funds to install kinesthetic furniture in my classroom.  So far I've purchased 12 wobble seats for my kidney tables, 2 giant floor mats (keyboard and Cell Phone), and one TAB Cycle.  TAB stands for "Take a Break" and the kids love riding this exercycle to burn off extra energy and refocus their attention.   Thanks to this fund raiser, plus and additional $2,000 from a grant as well as $1100 given from an anonymous donor and then matched with school funds, I will have 12 Alphabetter Stand-Up Desks with Swinging Footbars.

Many of you who have been following my progress will notice that I have changed the goal of this fundraiser to $3,920. That's all that remains in order to purchase 6 more desks and stools to complete a classroom set of eighteen.

This project means a great deal to me both personally and professionally.  I have always incorporated music and movement into my curriculum. Now I want to take this approach to a new level.   I am completely convinced that movement is the ticket to optimal brain function and emotional regulation.  A kinesthetic classroom offers researched based results in a number of key areas such as reduced behavior referral rates, increased attention/focus, improved retention of information and decreased stress levels (for both students and teachers!).
