Help Prevent Haleakala:PDX from getting evicted!

Mealsonuspdx is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We cook and create wonderful meals using donated ingredients for about 1000 people a week who are suffering from food scarcity in Portland, Oregon.

The awesome individual that we rent the community commercial kitchen space from is getting evicted in 30 days. 

Ashley Tenud runs the Good Pickle PDX. He makes fermented pickles and hot sauces.

He also created Haleakala: PDX. It's a community kitchen that focuses on helping out the BIPOC community, small businesses, and nonprofits. Giving back to the community is what Ashley does best.

Ashley is creating a garden community space in the backyard that gives us the opportunity to grow our own produce and herbs to use in our donation meal production. This all inclusive space will have murals created by the community for the community as well. 

The pandemic affected everyone really hard, including Ashley. So he is about $27,000 in debt to the owners of the building that we cook out of. The pandemic stopped the small businesses that were going to move in to Haleakala, therefore not allowing Ashley to pay the $5000 monthly rent.

We are asking for your help to keep this awesome vision afloat. We don't want to see this wonderful space go away. We want to keep using this kitchen and keep supporting Ashley and Haleakala: PDX.

We are raising funds to cover the back rent as well as pay for more months of continued usage of this wonderful place that a lot of us call home
