Hello, my name is Jasmine. In April 2016, I was diagnosed with a rare Aggressive Fibromatosis mass also known as Desmoid Tumor. My tumor is located in my shoulder and under arm area. It is very large, causing me tremendous pain, and at times, interferes with my ability to do even the most basic of tasks. The kind of tumor I have (if not controlled/contained by chemo) can grow at a very aggressive rate. I'm blessed that it is benign but it does mimick the characteristics of a cancerous tumor and is treated the same way.
Thankfully, I am able to undergo treatment. Doctors would like to do chemotherapy and surgically remove the tumor once it shrinks. I was blessed with a new job prior to my diagnosis. However, the tumor became very aggressive and the pain is unbearable and I was terminated from my position because I couldn't fulfill the job functions. Sadly due to the fact that it was a new job, I was not employed with the company long enough to get insuranace or any benefits.
My doctor told me that I will not be able to work for an estimated 6 months.
As we know, medical care and treatments such as chemotherapy are very expensive.
The money would be used to assist me with medical bills, copays, and other expenses that I will incur.
I am asking that you please contribute any amount that you feel comfortable with to help support me on my journey to beat this Desmoid Tumor and be pain free.
