Damon's Handicap Accessible Vehicle

Dear Family and Friends,
Damone Brooks (better known as Damon Brooks), lived a very active life prior to his spinal cord injury. At the young age of 20, Damone’s life has changed forever. Following his accident, he was diagnosed as a level C4- C5 quadriplegic and was told he would never walk again.
Damon graduated from Springbrook High School and was attending Goucher College when his accident happened. Damon has always enjoyed playing basketball, and had dreams of making it big. Prior to the accident, Damon was finishing up his freshman year at school and preparing himself for the upcoming basketball season.
Damon is now 23 years old and lives his life in the pursuit of achieving success and obtaining his goals. He decided to return to school 2 years ago to work towards earning a degree in journalism. His ultimate goal is to become a sports journalist for the world renowned ESPN. He currently attends Montgomery College in Rockville Md. Which has done an excellent job with providing accommodations that will place him in a position to thrive in his courses.
Damon still continues to participate in therapy sessions at Kennedy Krieger Institute for 3 months at a time. He has begun to experience more movement in his legs and fingers. He believes that he will regain his mobility and obtain his degree during the process.
As Damon is in the process of getting his old life back, we are asking for contributions so that he can purchase a handicap accessible vehicle so that he doesn’t have to keep relying on transportation companies and their schedules. It will help Damon be able to travel freely and on his own time.
