Memorial, Please bring Melissa Home

Melissa Arjona, our beloved sister passed away Tuesday 5/3/2016 at the age of 31 after prolonged battle with cancer. She passed away on Monday morning at a hospital far from home. Taken too soon. At the age of 31, a mother was taken away from her children. Melissa has been battling cancer since she was 23. Since then, pain had consumed her life. She had separated herself from her children in hopes to get better with chemo so she can witness her children's graduations, debut, marriage, etc. However, chemo was suggested to be a lifetime treatment for her. Chemo has taken away her quality of life. She was always in pain and weak after each treatment. So when she heard of an alternative treatment that did not consist of chemotherapy, she took her chances. Unfortunately, her cancer was too severe and cancer has taken her life. Although her heart and mind wanted to keep fighting, her body was too weak and decided to give up. She has left behind two young children and loving family.

A video call on Tuesday morning was the last we saw her. We could see her gasping for air, her trying to hang on, and her last wish was to "go home".  It is most heartbreaking to know that she is so far away from home.  As tears roll down our eyes, we know she is now in a better place with no more pain and suffering.

Melissa was battling with colon cancer for 8 years. She just celebrated her 31st birthday 4/16 in the hospital. Strength was what got her through it. She always said "I have the strength to fight in order to stay alive for my kids and my family". She is a strong woman who has been a great role model for many. She is a great person, kind hearted, giving, always positive, wonderful mother, sister, daughter, and also has such great faith in the Lord.

Although she is no longer with us, her loving family would like to give her a descent funeral and show her that she was loved by everyone. We are asking for your help to make this possible so anything helps.
We will not lose hope in bringing her back home, as this was her last wish. Any contributions is a generous gift from your heart and it will help out tremendously.

Thank you for taking the time to read Melissa's story.
Your generosity makes all of this possible. God bless.
