Help Tyler get back on the water!

Hi everyone, we are trying to raise money for Tyler Gargone. In the early morning hours Of July 16, Tyler Gargone and crew member & close friend Austin Pierce were 20 miles offshore when they were startled by a strange noise and smoke filling the cabin of the boat, Double G. While Austin prepared the raft and safety supplies Tyler assessed the situation and attempted to keep the fire under control. Unfortunately, the fire took over the engine room and both men had to make the difficult decision to abandon the boat and get into the life raft. With only minutes to make the mayday call and prepare the raft and life jackets, both guys were forced to leave all their personal belongings, tackle, and gear on the boat. While, they waited for assistance they could do nothing more than sit back and watch the boat perish. The boat, Double G had been meticulously refitted by Tyler and his father after purchase in summer 2019. This fulfilled the dream Tyler & his dad had of owning a big together hence the name Double G (after their last name Gargone) The father and son duo poured countless hours of labor and love into the double G, along with numerous friends. The boat which held a commercial bottom fishing permit, was Tyler’s main source of income and livelihood. In addition, Tyler lived aboard the vessel and is now homeless without an income. While we are incredibly thankful that both Tyler and Austin are safe and unharmed. Tyler’s loss is unfathomable especially given the uncertain climate of today’s world. To anyone that knows Tyler, he’s always smiling and a source of fun and adventure. He is the friend you can always count on whether it be to help change a tire to a ride home from the bar. Tyler is happy to help and always wears a smile. Both Tyler and his dad have deep roots in the fishing/maritime community. His dad started a career on lobster boats which ignited a love for commercial fishing and the ocean in Tyler. Even at a young age, Tyler had ambitions to work on the water. He started as a mate on several successful tournament boats before turning to owning his own vessel. The double G was Tyler’s pride and joy! We are seeking your your kind donations and support in honor of our good frind Tyler. We hope to raise some money to help get Tyler back on the water. Let’s show him some love and support during this devastating time!
