No Jab No Play SA Legal Challenge

The purpose of this fundraiser is to fund a legal challenge to stop children from being expelled from a pre-school, childcare centre, kindergarten, or other early childhood service from 7 August 2020 under the no jab no play laws in South Australia.
These laws discriminate against children. Children who do not meet certain immunisation requirements will be expelled from 7 August 2020.
This will create significant financial, social and developmental issues for children who will be unable to access these important services.
We are encouraged by the support that this campaign has received to date.
We need to attract families who are directly affected by these laws from 7 August 2020 to come forward and be plaintiffs in the proceedings.
One of the main factors holding some families back from coming forward is the size of any legal costs and any potential costs order if we are unsuccessful and lose.
For this reason, we have decided to increase the target for this campaign to $200,000 effective immediately. If we can raise this money, that will certainly reduce the burden on plaintiffs and encourage families to be plaintiffs in the proceedings. The quicker we raise the funds, the faster we can attract families to come forward.
The main matter will be a constitutional challenge to invalidate the no jab no play laws that expel or prohibit children from attending these early childhood services as a result of not satisfying immunisation requirements.
Let's give children a fighting chance to continue to receive these important early childhood services.

Proceedings were commenced in the Supreme Court of South Australia on 5 August 2020.
