I am a bilingual teacher with a degree in Early Childhood, helping a teacher's college in Atequiza, Jalisco, Mexico (Escuela Normal de Atequiza) to get the services and equipment they need to be primary school teachers.
This school is a sister school of the Ayotzinapa Escuela Normal from which the 43 students were "disappeared".   The students are from 18 to 24 years old and come from rural areas, and will go back to their communities to teach primary school. Presently I and a few fellow teachers are teaching them English and how to teach English, which is required under the new "reforms".
At present they have an internet service that doesn't work because the broadband is not powerful enough. For their research and thesis they use books from 1976 and pass around photocopied pdfs.
I would use this money to get the internet service they so badly need to be a part of today's world; at present they are treated as second-class citizens.  I come from Venezuela and know the importance of education, especially at the primary level and the lack of books available, as well as their high cost.  The internet provides so many books and articles free that it is an essential part of their education.
I need the funds to start the process so that when the next scholastic cycle begins in September 2016, the students will be able to fully participate in their own education.  These are good, bright kids; the best of their small communities, and need our help.  Thank you for reading this and for donating any amount that you can.
