Save my dad's life Glioblastoma Brain Tumour

Donation protected
This is my dad, On the 5th June 2020 my dad went to the hospital accident and emergency department because as a family we thought he was acting different , his speech was slurred and his memory was going. We thought he had a stroke , he went to the hospital and they ran the basic tests and examined him, they said to him we think you’ve had a stroke and they was sorry to tell him this. Not long after he went for a scan of his head , to check for any trauma. At this point our whole world was turned upside down , the scans shown he had a large mass on the left side of his brain. On the Saturday , we saw a neurology doctor, they said it was a large cyst inside the brain. We expected the worst news possible that it was a tumour. He said the cyst could be drained and would relieve my dad's symptoms. The following day, my dad had another scan with contrast, this showed a huge cyst but it also showed a brain tumour sitting on top of the cyst. The doctors told us this was time sensitive and they will have to act quick. On the Monday 8th June my dad was released with steroids to reduce swelling around the cyst and tumour and awaiting results from the MDT (Multi Disciplinary Meeting) to discuss options available. The following Friday we received the call from the nurse specialist to talk about the results, my dad was called into Nottingham to meet with a Neurosurgeon. At this point we have been praying that this tumour was operable, fortunately the surgeon said this tumour is operable, the same week on the Thursday my dad had surgery. The surgery was a success and they removed the vast majority of the tumour and the cyst was fully removed. Small parts of the tumour still exist, we thought this was good news, the roller coaster is over but then the biopsy results returned and it devastated the family. The results came back as Glioblastoma Grade 4. The most invasive and aggressive brain cancer to get. This is extremely difficult to treat, most patients sadly die within months of diagnosis, my dad has been given only 12-18 months to live , luckily my dad's was caught very early and has a fighting chance to beat the statistics. He will be going through chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we are also looking at experimental and private treatment to save our dad's life, this is costly and we will be putting the majority of our own money from savings and credit towards it but we need your help to help save my dad's life. All money will be used on experimental treatments including the natural route with CBD oils which is heavily researched and proven to slow down the progress of Glioblastoma. There are many alternative treatments available but these are costly. This is such a difficult time for our family and friends, it's an evil cancer and unfair. My dad is the most loving, funny, playful person and a hero to me! Every little will help to save my dad's life! The funds will be used to prolong and save my dad's life using experimental treatment which isn't available on the NHS. Thank you so much for reading and thank you so much for helping. ❤️ All funds will be withdrawn and looked after by Dawn Greenwood.
