Jennifer's China Orphanage Trip

In 2007, my eyes were opened to the world's orphan crisis and my heart was broken for the millions of kids around the world without families to call their own. Wondering what I can do to help such a big problem consumes my thoughts day and night! My heart was broken even more as we travelled to China to adopt Rylie in 2010 and Jude in 2012, as I saw first hand the kids who so desperately need love, medical care, and hope. Suddenly, 2 of those desperate kids were mine! Now they are home, safe, and loved, but still, I cannot sit by while there are so many others like them waiting for someone to help. I can do more.


I have the amazing opportunity to travel back to China this summer to volunteer with Show Hope and work at Maria's Big House of Hope, a special care center in Luoyang, China. This facility cares for over 120 orphans with special needs and provides them with life-saving medical care.

My 11 years as a pediatric nurse (and my experience as a mom of kids with special needs) have given me ample opportunity to feel comfortable with a vast array of medical needs, and has allowed me to see the amazing handiwork of God, despite the challenges these children face.


But, I need your help! As you can imagine, there are many expenses involved in travelling to China for 10 days. Would you partner with me to help these kids? More than anything, I covet your prayers for safety and that God would use me for whatever purpose He has in China! But, if you could spare a few dollars, that would be awesome too! So many people ask what they can do to help when the problem seems so big. This is one small thing you can do! Not everyone can go. But everyone can help send someone!
