Marvin’s Sequen Funeral Fundraiser

On Sunday, June 14, we lost a life of a hero. He sacrificed his life for his girlfriend’s son. A 35 year old, Marvin Sequen. He was out with friends and family at a river, Kern River Bakersfield. They were enjoying the view and suddenly things escalated. My 11 year old cousin slipped from a rock into the river and out of rush to save him he jumped into the river not caring that he didn’t know how to swim or if the river was deep. The current of the river was pretty strong that pushed both of them into the further deeper side but somehow Marvin was able to push my little cousin to the shallow side to where he was able to swim and sustain himself to a branch where his mother was able to grab onto him. Unfortunately, Marvin wasn’t able to hold on to anything or pushed himself to the shallow and drown. The family wants to send his body to his home land, Guatemala. Any contributions would be highly appreciated to be able to help out the family with expenses of funeral or expenses of sending the body to Guatemala. Any donations will be helpful. Estaba con amigos y familia en un río, Kern River en Bakersfield. Estaban disfrutando de la vista y de repente las cosas se intensificaron. Mi primo de 11 años se deslizó de una roca al río y con prisa por salvarlo, Marvin se saltó al río sin preocuparse de que no supiera nadar o si el río era profundo. La corriente del río era bastante fuerte que los empujó a ambos hacia el lado más profundo, pero de alguna manera Marvin pudo empujar a mi primo hacia el lado poco profundo donde pudo nadar y sostenerse a una rama donde su madre pudo para agarrarlo. Desafortunadamente, Marvin no fue capaz de aferrarse a nada ni tampoco empujarse al lado que no estaba profundo y desafortunadamente no pude salir del agua y se murrio. La familia quiere enviar su cuerpo a su tierra natal, Guatemala.
