Please Help Me Hire An Attorney 2 Stay Out Of Jail

Donation protected

I've never been good at asking others for help (especially not money) but like a friend of mine said yesterday "desperate times call for desperate measures" so here I go.. These past few years have been the most difficult years, of my entire life! I feel like I've been, continuously taking two steps forward & ten steps back. As most of you already know, my name's Megan & I am an alcoholic. I've struggled with my drinking addiction since I picked up my very first drink. So a few years ago, when my drinking started getting out of hand, my exes took 'temporary custody' of my children, while I was in detox. I then lost my job, my home, my license & basically my will to live. That's when my drinking started getting REALLY out of hand. Throw in some relationship troubles & boom! Landed my butt right in jail.. more times than I had ever even imagined, I'd end up in jail :( In 2018, I spent 6 months, behind bars, for my first (& only DUI) that I got in 2017, although I only blew .08, the legal limit. In 2019, I was arrested 9 times. ALL of which were related to alcohol & anger. So I decided to go to detox, again, at the end of 2019 & the beginning of 2020 then I moved into a half way house. Apparently, I had acquired 5 fta's, (failure to appear in court) while I was in detox, which caused warrants for my arrest. I served 80 days, behind bars, this year, on 23/1 (meaning 23 hours, in a 6×8 holding cell & only 1 hour out.. long enough to shower & make a phone call.) Needless to say, I did a lot of thinking, regretting, praying, planning, soul searching & I read about 50 books, this year. Since, I got bonded out, on April 16, I have seriously been doing my very best to stay sober & do the 'next right thing', all while basically couch surfing, because I am still homeless. This Corona virus really hasn't made it easy for me to find a job & without a job, it's even more of a struggle to get back on my own two feet. Thankfully, I did receive a stimulus check, that I can't do anything with because I don't have a photo id. I lost my birth certificate & social security card years ago & you have to have those in order to get an id. So I've been working on getting those. I have completely changed my 'people, places & things.' Also, I have enrolled in SAIOP (substance abuse intensive outpatient program) & I am going to counseling for anger management. Last week, I was trying to find my court dates online, because I knew court was back in session.. well, on Thursday, a friend of mine, found out that I had court on Tuesday & Wednesday :/ so now I have warrants for my arrest, once again & my court appointed attorney dropped me. So unless I come up with $2,500, this week, to hire a paid attorney, I am going to go back to jail & may be stuck there for a really long time, this time & I really, REALLY, DO NOT want to go back to jail! I feel like I'm finally getting ahead & doing so well! Going back to jail will just set me back another ten steps :( So I had this grand idea! :) I was thinking about how I have around 3,000 friends, on Facebook & if every one of my friends were to send me just $1, I'd be able to stay out of jail & continue to work on bettering myself & getting my life back together! :) I just want to thank you all for taking time, out of your day, to read this. I greatly appreciate any donation, that comes my way! Every little bit helps! I promise to use it wisely & I promise to continue to do my very best! With all my love, thank you, again! ~Megan Wood
