I am 42 years old and live with secondary progressive MS, use a wheelchair, have no use of my right side and many other problems MS can cause (blurry vision, bladder, stiffness, spasticity, fatigue, I could go on and on). People like to say \"I may have MS, but it doesn\'t have me!!\" Well, you know what? It HAS ME. It has grabbed hold of me, takes me where it wants to go, doesn\'t let me make a decision without it, doesn\'t let me live my life the way I would like to. I can\'t do ANYTHING without the help of a caregiver and I\'d like to get some semblance of MY life back. I just want to feel better and not spend my days suffering (I always hated that term, \"she suffers from MS\", because I never SUFFERED. Until the past few years, now I get it!)
I am going for a second angioplasty treatment on February 28 to open up my veins and get the blood flowing from my brain. I was treated in July, but severely \"undertreated\" (according to doctors here and my own gut instinct, they missed some) and my left jugular is re-stenosing. Time to try again! This time I\'m off to Pacific Interventionalists in California. (I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada). I have heard amazing things about this clinic and the doctors there, and they have treated many patients who were undertreated previously, and fixed them up good!
I am unable to work and have been on AISH for many years. Therefore, I cannot afford this trip or treatment and am asking for your help. Family and a few friends helped out last time, HUGE, so I can\'t ask all the same people again!
This is my LAST HOPE! Not sure what I\'ll do if this intervention doesn\'t help me, so we just have to pray it will at least stop progression. The longer I can stay in my own apartment with my kitties and Home Care, the better. Care facilities are not my thing.

p.s. $15,000 is approximate and includes the treatment itself, a possible stent, flights, hotel in Costa Mesa, car rental, and meals for myself and a caregiver. (Only the treatment days... my Beverly Hills jaunt afterwards is my own debt! You only live once!)
