Rachel Kinney Support Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday May 31, 2020 Greenville, North Carolina came together and stood up for change. The current protests are closely connected to the unjust killing of George Floyd, but we are also protesting these issues in our local communities as well. Rachel Kinney was one of those protesters. She is a certified first responder here in eastern North Carolina and wanted to come out to stand for what she believes in while watching over others involved.
Rachel made a huge sacrifice for her eastern carolina community, and it is time that we come together for her. She came out to peacefully protest against police using excessive force, and became a victim when she was tear gassed because the police no longer wanted the protesters in the area. If you have been paying attention to the news and social media around this situation, you may have heard about her alleged actions that resulted in her facing criminal charges. We are not here to judge her on whether her actions were right or wrong, unfortunately, a district judge will be taking care of that for us. In fact, due to this being an open case, we can not go into details about what happened that day. What we can tell you about Rachel is that she is a great human being. She puts others well being before her own. She stands up for what she knows to be right. Last, she did not have any ill intentions in showing up to protest that Sunday.
We are asking that the community come together with donations to help support her through the battle she is faced with now. All funds raised will be used to cover court costs, fines, and 1 months salary due to her losing her job as a first responder.
Thank you all in advance for your compassion and support for Rachel!
