Starting Over After Devastating Injury
3 weeks ago I was struck by a car in a hit and run. I have radial fractures in my right wrist and left leg. I also had to have reconstructive surgery on my nose due to a skull fracture which crushed my nose. I had to have a plate put in my wrist and am struggling to hold onto anything or feel my fingers. Worst of all is the memory of waking up in a ditch not remembering what happened. I managed getting to my feet and hobbling about 100 yards through bushes and up a hill to the road where I stood and screamed for help as car after car drove by including 2 police officers. One stopped for a moment before taking off. Finally a man stopped and called 911. I spent 10 days in the hospital without the comfort of a visitor due to covid 19 and I've never felt so alone. Now I find myself alone and struggling to survive without assistance. I never thought I'd be in this position needing help from anyone willing, but here I am......
