Dan Nielsen Memorial Fundraiser

While at the University of Alabama, Dan Nielsen carved his legacy as an avid volunteer for the Tuscaloosa Habitat for Humanity. He participated in the building of over 17 Habitat for Humanity homes and helped raise over $200,000 for the organization across his five years at the Capstone. Concurrently, he obtained a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2019, followed by a master's in business administration in 2020 as a part of the STEM/CREATE Path to MBA.

Sadly, Dan Nielsen passed away in the fall of 2021 at the young age of 24. In 2022, to honor his legacy, the annual Dan Nielsen Memorial Fundraiser was created to raise money for the Tuscaloosa Habitat for Humanity, just as Dan would have done. The fundraiser will be highlighted by an event held in his name at The Rabbit Hole Tuscaloosa on Friday, April 4, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Tuscaloosa Habitat for Humanity.
