We are writing to ask for your support for Scouts BSA Troop 1485. Our Troop was founded in 2019 and is an all-girls Troop based in Sparks-Glencoe. We are the first (and only) BSA Troop for girls in the Northern Baltimore County area. What began with twelve young ladies has increased to twenty-six Scouts, and earlier this summer, the Troop celebrated the first of its Scouts to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
The Scouts BSA program is designed to impart values and life skills that help Scouts learn how to survive in the outdoors and aid in their development as young adults, teaching them leadership skills and building their confidence. This program is presented in part through great outdoor activities. Indeed, over the past few years, our Scouts have had opportunities to experience whitewater rafting, canoeing in the Adirondacks, sailing on the Chesapeake, and backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, among many other experiences.
Your donation will support the Troop with costs such as equipment and transportation. As the Troop is chartered by the Glencoe Immanuel Episcopal Church, a religious nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible, and we will provide a receipt for any donation received.
We thank you for your consideration.
