2021 Ogunquit Spirit of Giving

It’s that time of year again! The Ogunquit Spirit of Giving committee hopes that you and yours are doing well in these unprecedented times.

Now in our 17th season, this year’s Spirit of Giving is still observing Covid precautions. In light of pandemic restrictions, strained resources, and our desire to keep our sponsors, volunteers, and recipient organizations safe, we will not be hosting an in-person party this year, nor will we be collecting gifts for children. However, we want to do something to ensure that we are able to provide a brighter Christmas this year to as many of the 600+ children we would normally provide gifts for.

For the second year we have created a GoFundMe page for you to provide monetary donations in lieu of shopping for specific children. We will split all funds collected between Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine and Frannie Peabody Center. Each organization’s staff will then distribute the proceeds based on the needs of their client families, buying gift cards, ordering gifts online, etc.

We also encourage you to bypass the GoFundMe fees by sending checks payable to Spirit of Giving, or gift cards to major retailers (e.g. Walmart, Target, Amazon, Hannaford) to PO Box 88, Ogunquit, ME 03907. When sending gift cards by mail, please let us know if you need a receipt for your donation. Every $50 raised will by holiday gifts for one deserving Maine child. Our fundraiser will remain open until December 13, 2021, but please donate as early as possible in order to reduce stress on our recipient organizations.
