2020 Run for the Fund: To Winnipeg and Back

HMCS Winnipeg is a Royal Canadian Naval ship based out of Esquimalt, BC. We plan to deploy for the second half of 2020. During the deployment we hope to raise a significant amount of money for charities, including The Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund, which is our main charity from the city which our ship is named after.
We are using the go fund me platform to motivate 2 teams of sailors onboard to run the distance from Esquimalt BC to Winnipeg MB and back, in the time of our deployment. In addition to the money that we will raise onboard from our ship’s crew, we will be using this platform to encourage friends, family, and supporters of the ship and crew to donate to this initiative as well.This race will be a 4800 km virtual relay race! Roughly 63,158 laps on the ship's flight deck! The teams will be allocated closer to when we start our operation and updates on how far they have gone will be posted!

Information about The Firefighters Burn Fund Inc.: The Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund is a volunteer run organization. No salaries are paid to any Board Member or volunteer. The Burn Fund is not a member agency of The United Way, nor does it receive government grants. Therefore, it relies entirely on donations and proceeds from fundraising activities.
